The Gefran MN1-6-H-P10M-1-4-D is a melt pressure transmitter with voltage output from the MN series, designed for high-temperature environments. It reads process media temperature up to 400°C (750°F, diaphragm maximum). The constructive principle is based on hydraulic transmission of pressure; the fluid-filled (mercury) system assures temperature stability. The physical measure is transformed into an electrical measure using strain-gauge (extensimetric) technology.
Per this exact model’s order code: accuracy is <±0.25% FSO (BFSL method, which includes combined effects of non-linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability), for the 10,000 psi (P10M) range. Output signal is 0–5 Vdc, powered by a −15…+15 Vdc supply. The connector is 6-pin. Resolution is infinite. Maximum overpressure without degrading performance is 1.5x FS (since this range is above 1000 bar/15000 psi).
Maximum current absorption is 25 mA. Insulation resistance is >1000 MOhm (at 50 Vdc). Response time is approximately 1 ms (10–90% FSO). Output noise is <0.025% FSO (RMS 10–400Hz). The calibration signal is 80% FSO, with output short-circuit and reverse polarity protection. Compensated temperature range is 0°C to +85°C; operating temperature range is −30°C to +105°C; storage temperature range is −40°C to +125°C. Thermal drift within the compensated range (zero/calibration/sensibility) is <0.02% FSO/°C.
Thread is 1/2-20 UNF (M18×1.5 available). Mercury filling volume for the MN1 model is 40 mm³. The standard diaphragm is 15-5 PH stainless steel with GTP+ coating; a 17-7 PH corrugated diaphragm with GTP+ coating is available for ranges below 100 bar (1500 psi). The stem material is 17-4 PH. Protection degree is IP65 (6-pole female connector).
An Autozero function is available on board (activated via magnetic contact) or as an external option. A Drift Autocompensation function for melt temperature influence is available on the SP version (for ranges above 100 bar); this feature is described in the datasheet as reducing read error caused by heating of the filling fluid.
