Gefran 1200-RR00-00-0-1 Controller

The Gefran 1200-RR00-00-0-1 is a microprocessor-based PID temperature controller in a compact 48×96 mm (1/8 DIN) housing, built using surface mount technology. The operator interface features a Lexan membrane faceplate rated to IP65, with 4 keys, a double 4-digit green LED display, 4 red signal LEDs for the relay/logic outputs, and 3 additional programmable LEDs for instrument status indication.

The controller accepts a universal input that supports a wide range of sensor types — including thermocouples, resistance thermometers, thermistors, and normalized linear signals — all selectable directly from the front panel without external adapter shunts or dividers. Custom linearization can also be configured from the faceplate for specialized sensor applications.

Up to 4 outputs are available and can be configured as mechanical relays (5A, 250VAC/30VDC), logic outputs, or a Triac for driving resistive loads. An analog retransmission output is included for feeding the measured value to recorders or supervisory systems. A hot/cold function with cooling fluid selection, 3 fully configurable alarms, and an auxiliary current transformer input for heater break detection round out the control capabilities.

Advanced functions include Self-tuning, Auto-tuning, Soft-start, and bumpless Manual/Auto transfer. Double setpoint, setpoint ramping, and timed output functions are supported. Serial communication is available via optically isolated RS485 with GEFRAN CENCAL or MODBUS RTU protocols.

The 1200 ships with an “EASY” startup configuration that requires setting only the setpoint and alarm before launching self-tuning. For more detailed setup, the GF_eXpress PC software provides a guided Windows-based programming environment.
